Accessing cases
You can find and open a case in F2 if you have read access to at least one of its records. This also allows you to add new records to the case.
Access to a case may be restricted, meaning you can neither find nor open the case. If you attempt to open a case to which you don’t have access, F2 shows a dialogue called "You do not have access to the object". You will not be able to attach records to a case you cannot access.
You can edit the metadata of a case if you have write access.
Access restrictions on cases
Access to a case can be restricted, meaning only certain users can view the case and its records.
Restrict access to a case
You can restrict access to a case and its records so it can only be accessed by specific users or groups of users. To do this, add one or more security groups, users, units, or teams to the "Access restriction" field. The case must be in edit mode.
Records are affected by the case access restriction
By default, records inherit any access restriction set on the case.
In the record window, you can see who has access to the case in the "Case access restricted to" field. Tick or untick the "Case access" checkbox to decide whether the record should inherit the case’s access restriction. F2 can be configured to tick this checkbox by default.
Click the question mark icon next to the “Case access” checkbox to show a tooltip with pertinent information about access to the record.
Write access to case metadata
You can edit the metadata of a case if you have write access to the case. You have write access if you are responsible on the case or a supplementary case manager.
Your write access is independent of the role you are logged in with. If you have multiple job roles, you don’t need to log into the unit that is responsible for a given case. You will automatically have access through your job roles.
It is possible to configure write access to case metadata, expanding it beyond the responsible user or unit and any supplementary case managers. Configurations are made in cooperation with cBrain. |
