The case window ribbon

Menu items for working with cases are found in the case window ribbon. The availability of many of the functions in the case window ribbon depends on the case status and your access rights to the case.
You can adjust the ribbon in the "Customise toolbar and ribbon" window.
The menu items in the case window ribbon are described below.

Use Go to main window and Go to record on this case to navigate to the main window or the open records on the case. Click the drop-down menu of Go to record on this case to view your open records. Figure 2. Navigate to open records on the case

|
Click on Edit to enter edit mode. This requires write access to the case and lets you edit the case metadata. |
||
|
Click on Save to save any changes. This button replaces Edit when the case is in edit mode. |
||
|
Cancel is available when the case is in edit mode. Click to undo all changes done in edit mode. |
||
|
Delete deletes the case and its records. To delete cases you must have either the “Can delete cases” privilege or the “Can delete everything on cases” role. |
||
|
Open the “New record” dialogue from which you can create a new record. A record created from the case window is attached to the case unless deselected in the “New record” dialogue. |
||
|
Add to the case a: New additions in the case window are attached to the case unless deselected during creation. |

|
Add an FOI request to the case using the FOI Request, Advanced add-on. |
||
|
Make the case available on an iPad using F2 Manager. |

|
Add a case guide to the case. Contact cBrain for further information about case guides. |
||
|
Change the case status from “In progress” to “Complete” thus closing the case. F2 may perform a cleanup of the records on the case. Closing cases requires the “Closer cases” privilege. Read more about this privilege and F2’s default behaviour when completing a case. |

|
Reopen the case. After a case has been closed, it can be reopened. Reopening cases requires the “Reopener case” privilege. |

|
Show/hide the case folder structure. |
||
|
Update the list of case records. This update can also be performed by pressing the F5 key. |
||
|
Choose the location of the preview of records and documents. This setting affects all cases, but has no effect on the main window preview. |
||
|
Activate auto grouping. If auto grouping is active, you can group the result list by its columns. |
||
|
Edit auto grouping of case records. This function is disabled when auto grouping is deselected. |
||
|
Show case history. |
||
|
Show related cases, if any. |
