Case folders
The records of a case can be placed in folders to better organise them. The folders are shown on the left side of the case window while the records in the selected folder are located on the right.
The top folder is named after the case and cannot be deleted. All new records on the case are displayed in this folder.
Create folder
Right-click on the top folder and select Create folder to create the first case folder.
You can right-click on your new folder and select Create folder to add a subfolder. You can right-click on the top folder to create another folder on the same level as the first case folder you created.
There is no limit as to the number of folder levels.
An example of a folder hierarchy is shown in the figure below.
Folders are sorted alphanumerically. This means folders are sorted by both letters and numbers. This ensures that a folder with the title “10” is not placed between the folders “1” and “2”. |
Note that in the image above, the selected folder, “Internal”, is empty. You can place a record in a folder by dragging the record to the folder. You can also move a record by right-clicking it and selecting Move to case folder in the context menu.
The “Move to case folder” dialogue opens. Select a case folder for the record. Click OK to finish.
Rename folder
To rename a case folder, right-click on it and select Rename folder.
Delete folder
To delete a case folder, right-click on it and select Delete folder. The records from the deleted folder are not deleted, but transferred to the case’s top folder.
Toggle folder structure
You can hide the folder structure of a case. This can be useful if a case contains many records and has a complex folder structure.
Click on Show folder structure in the case window ribbon to show the case folder structure.
Click on Hide folder structure in the case window ribbon to hide the case folder structure. All records will be displayed in one list.
You can choose whether to display the case folder structure per default when you open the case window. The case folder display options are found in Setup on the “Settings” tab in the main window.
